Something happened today that really crushed me.
This was what happened.

YESTERDAY
Aaric: Hey Jen. I called AFS just now and... I think I am the only one short - listed for the second interview.
Me: Oh. (depressing tone)
Aaric: You try calling them lah cause just now very noisy and I didn't hear very properly.
Me: Ok (acting hopeful cause he sounded like he was consoling me).

TODAY
Me: (while calling AFS) Hello? I would like to check if I'm short - listed for the AFS YES scholarship programme.
Receiver: (after me giving all my info) Erm.. I'm sorry but you are not the chosen one.
Me: (my heart skipped a beat) ............. Anyways, thank you very much.

4 years of hoping......... nights of work ......... days of praying, and yet nothing.
I held back my tears when I'm alone.
Seeing your dream being wiped away is really painful. Knowing that you'll never get a chance like that again is even worse.
